Groupon!

Have you heard of Groupon? It's one of my new favorites. It's free to sign up and they email you daily deals for killer prices. The kicker is if enough people buy the deal, then the deal is ON! For instance, I just bought a $50 Gap gift card for $25 good until mid-November. Perfect for Christmas shopping! One of today's deal is a Fandago movie ticket for $4! Good until next year! This deal is on for another 4 days. Here's where you can get that deal here.

Read all about it here

If you're interested in signing up, you can go here. Any referrals I get, I'll buy Groupons for a giveaway!! Everyone is a winner!

CSN Review

Ohhh, I am so excited about this!  I was just offered an opportunity to write a review for CSN stores!  Remember them from the giveaway a few weeks back?  They have over 200 stores to shop from on their website, so I am completely undecided about what to get and I need your help...
I really want a Dutch Oven since I missed out on Girl's Camp I need some peach cobbler to ease my woes.  But we really need a new waffle iron to serve the masses, and a food scale would really be helpful as I try to shed a few baby pounds.  Then again, I might just need a new purse!
Your assignment:  Leave a comment with your vote on which item I should review, or what item you would get if given the chance.

Fun Tip

Get out your coupons ladies (and gentlemen).... Smiths is doing another coupon "roll-up" starting Wednesday!  Which means that ALL coupon values will be rounded up to $1!!  Why is this so fantastic?  Here's an example:  Chef Boyardee will be on sale for 10/$10 (or $1), and you will use the .35/3 coupon in SS 8/15 which will now be equal to $1/3, and each can will cost .67!  I love this type of sale.  I usually plan at least 2 trips to Smiths during this sale.  For my first trip, I will use my Grocery Smarts shopping list with all the listed sales.  Then, while I am shopping, I plan on a few extra minutes in the store looking for other items on sale for around $1 - I also look for items on manager's clearance.  If I see something that catches my eye, I will write it down then come home and check the Alphabetical Coupon Index to see if there are any matching coupons!!
NOTE: You can only type searches using Internet Explorer

Did you know there is another index for all the printable coupons too!?!

Have fun, and let me know what other deals you can find!!

You know you're a Grocery Geek when....
Your friends see comics involving coupons and 'tag' you!
A friend of mine from choir found this and did just that.  I laughed pretty good when I saw this on my facebook page.  I thought it was hilarious - a little on the sac-religious side - but funny none the less!
Happy Wednesday to you all!!

Polar Bears...in Summer?

Not sure why it has taken me all summer to figure this one out, but my friend told me about this neat Polar Bear exhibit at the Galleria Mall.  She mentioned that they have even cheaper group rates.  With a group minimum of 12 people, you can get a discount for the polar bears and penguins exhibit/activities. It brings the price down to $2/person!

Located on the Upper Level of the mall, next to Kohl's

Ticket Prices:
Adults: $6
Children ages 5-17: $4
Seniors 62 and older: $4
Group rates available, call 267-2171

If I happen to get my act together I will schedule a day and time to go and you can join us for the group rate (we are half the group by ourselves now - sheesh) - stay tuned for that.

UPDATE:  There is a mom's group meeting at the exhibit on Friday Aug 27 @ 10:30am.  They need more people to make a full group.  The J Crew will be there - how fun!!

FREE Cereal!!

UPDATE 8/18: Boo Hoo!! No FREE cereal!  Apparently it was a misprint (even though it's also in the online ad too). $3.49 before discount $2.99 when you buy 8 - select varieties 16.2-25.25 oz boxes.
I'm going to go bawl like a baby right now...I really was excited about this deal.

I picked up the new sale ads for this week and literally squeeled when I saw that the Smith's promo is continuing for another week.  AND then I saw this nugget ...

(so sorry for the pic quality, I snapped this with my phone as fast as I could)
I will admit I was a little miffed because I had JUST picked up 12 boxes of cereal and 5 boxes of granola bars! Dang it!

OK - I wasn't too upset because I only paid $9.63 for all of it!!  You better believe I am going to scour the internet and order more GM coupon inserts from Coupons By Dede.  It may take me a whole other week to track down free cereal, but with this awesome sale and my fist full of cash coupons, I double dog dare you to beat me to the store!

Don't forget to check these other sources for printable and digital coupons (don't forget to print twice):

For my organic friends, Cascadian Farms cereals will be included in the promo too.  They will be $2.49 after promo and sign up to receive a $1.00 off coupon here.

HAPPY SAVING!!!
I would love to see pictures of your grocery treasures and maybe where you store it all - I haven't figured out that part yet.

Swirl - Great deal!!

Well, as most of you know, I recently had baby #5.  I am very slowly trying to reclaim the body I once had, and as such, I am very reluctant to buy new clothes.  That being said, I have a new love for accessories!!  Well, today I checked in with Hip2Save and she did a post about a company called Swirl.  They are an online store that sells samples of some up and coming designers.  While there are some GREAT items, most of them are a teensie bit on the pricey side.  However, I did see some items that were under $20 in their Swirl Steals.  Plus, until August 31st, you can use the checkout code LUVSWIRL and get $20 off your first order!!  I am a sandal girl and am a little bit drooling over these beauties.  I would end up paying $19 + $9.95 shipping for $99 sandals!!  What to do, what to do??!!

I may have to scoop up this way cute headband instead... I would only end up paying $9.95 for hipping! Yeah, I like that!

To get started, click HERE to register, then shop away, and don't forget the code LUVSWIRL at checkout... Happy Shopping!!

MAJOR Savings @ Smiths!

I don't know about you, but my summer has been nuts and I feel like I haven't been on a good shopping trip for a while now.  Whoo hoo!!  I sure got my "fix" this morning!  Since I always get asked to actually GO shopping for people, I figured I would make it a no-brainer for you this week (especially if you are new to rolling transactions).  First, I checked the Grocery Smarts Smiths list and then checked the Pinching Your Pennies link to see if there are any other great deals I should know about.  Oh, Boy!!  There are a ton of catalina deals this week too!  [catalina: a coupon that prints from the register after you pay].  So, I spent some time doing my homework last night and I came up with some great transactions.  So, here ya go....

Now it's time to sit down with your coupon file box and clip away. You may want or need to print a few printables out for these transactions.  Next, I always check the digital coupons and see if I can add a few to my card (see the sidebar on the right of this blog for printables and digitals).  I also check to see if I have any store coupons I can add (my lucky day - I recently received my $13 in smiths rewards).  Make sure you organize your coupons with each transaction so when you are shopping, you can easily group the items for each transaction in your cart and you have all the coupons ready to go - makes for a much easier checkout process.

Here's my loot from this morning's transactions.  It's important to note that sometimes, not everything goes according to plan, sometimes for the better!  I haven't looked too closely, but my totals came to $21.89 for #1, $18.59 for #2, and $7.64 for #3 (I added pens and pencils because I was afraid it would get too close to zero or a negative balance.  PLUS, I now have $7.50 in catalinas from that last transaction AND 50 Bonus Box Tops!  All in all, a SUPER fun morning!!!

I love razors!

I love a good razor deal! The ProGlide razor has been such a good deal for the guys, I've been waiting for a good women's razor deal (not to say I wouldn't use one of the many ProGlides for myself!). I tried to use the disposable razors but they just don't work for me. Maybe I'm a razor snob, hehe! So...I think this is a good one and a money maker at that! This deal is at Target and takes into account the 2, $5 gift cards you'll receive AND a $10 rebate from Olay making this a $6 money maker!
