Pick the Perfect Pepper
{sheesh I love my alliterations}
When you are shopping for ingredients to your favorite meal, it helps to know what you are getting. Here's one cool tip:
Peppers with 3 bumps on the bottom are sweeter and better for eating
Peppers with 4 bumps firmer and better for cooking
BONUS RECIPE: Brush vegetable oil on the peppers and roast them in the oven. You can broil them, but watch carefully. When the skin starts to blacken, remove them from the oven and turn them. Remove the skin, slice them, and remove the seeds. Lay them on a shallow tray and coat with Italian salad dressing. Yummy! Serve them as is, or over bruchetta.
